Special thanks to William Desmond and Alvan Long at the Sound Museum, Reign Fure, Charlin Humanimalien and Katie Coriander for all the great underground locations!!

Our recent accomplishments!

helpmestill2

We had an amazing experience at #burningvermin! Thanks to the genius, skill and resourcefulness of Stee McMorris, the charm of Vermin Supreme and Parama Chattopadhyay, and the attentiveness and positivity of Chris Morrill, Bret Matteo and Noelle Shaffer, we got about twenty tons of awesome out of about ten tons of amazing hippies, anarchists and libertarians!

So yeah, achievement unlocked. We now know how to do crowd scenes, for Star Space and elsewhere. Not that I’ve more than barely scratched the surface.

Side note. Megaphones are awesome.

So anyway at #burningvermin, we got 4 more highly complex scenes in the can for The Overlord Project. Which means that now we’ve shot more than half of the scenes for all of the original eleven scripted commercials.

During this time, we have also shot enough off-script improv material for about 45 more commercials!

So far the Overlord Project has generated:

18 commercials finished and up and public on YouTube:

-3 15-second improv-style commercials for Vermin Supreme for Overlord:

“Pony Pledge” “Help Me!” and “Nipple Power”

-9 30-second improv-style commercials for Vermin Supreme for Overlord:

“Time Travel” “Canine Americans” “Verminland” “Evil Death Rays” “Children’s Safety” “Truth to Ponies” “Gitmo” “Pescetarianism” and “Free Speech”

-1 52-second Ron Paul-style commercial for Vermin Supreme for Overlord

-3 30-second improv-style commercials for Captain Titus for Overlord:

“The Reckoning” “The Great Outdoors” and “Blood Currency”

-1 30-second Ron Paul-style commercial for Captain Titus for Overlord

-1 30-second scripted commercial for Sophia and Michael for Overlord!!!

-2 6-second Vine videos for Vermin Supreme for Overlord:

“Pony Trance” and “Ponies for Everyone!”

9 commercials rough cut and going up soon.  These still need color correction, sound mastering, titles and CGI before they’re done. But they’re visible now for Patreon supporters!

-2 15-second improv-style commercials for Vermin Supreme for Overlord

“Free Pony Song” and “Pony-O-Rama”

-5 30-second improv-style commercials for Vermin Supreme for Overlord

“Titus will Destroy You” “Ricky is a Sexist” “Earth People” “Vermin’s Followers” and “Neighsayers”

Here’s a secret Pinterest page with all the unfinished rough cuts on it!

Here’s a secret Facebook group for only my generous Patreon supporters!

21 commercials which are roughly sequenced and going up later

-2 30-second scripted commercials for Vermin Supreme for Overlord

-4 30-second improv-style commercials for Vermin Supreme for Overlord

“Sheeple” and others

-8 6-second Vine videos for Vermin and Titus

-5 30-second improv-style commercials for Captain Titus for Overlord

-2 raids and spaceship battles

6 commercials which are in the can and yet to be sequenced

-2 60-second scripted commercials for Vermin Supreme for Overlord

-2 30-second scripted commercials for Vermin Supreme for Overlord

-2 music videos

-a reality show pilot

-other stuff.

Next to be shot are a REAL CELEBRITY, followed by kittens, police, some spaceships, an office, a flamethrower and a couple of pickup shots, and that’ll be that!

We should be done shooting around late October sometime. Then, Strange Harvest!

Stee McMorris‘s short horror film is right now in high gear of pre-production. I’m helping produce, but Stee McMorris did all the writing and is doing all of the directing, and it is going to be creepy as heck! She still could use some help with funding and possibly some help set building! You can help her out on her Patreon page!

Other things have happened. There were salamanders and vampires and foot-licking and of course, blood, laser beams, vaporized people, giant crowds. I could keep talking for quite some time, but this ought to do it for now!

The spirit of New England resilience is demonstrated in its homespun cinema; consequently, our industrious filmmakers offer a diverse array of work in the horror genre. Homegrown Horror spotlights their voices by sharing a sample of the unique and sinister stories lurking beneath the surface of this seemingly idyllic place.
A psychopath in Raynham, Massachusetts is frustrated by modern communication (The Horrors of Auto-Correct); in Portland, Maine, an urban legend hungers for a vulnerable part of a child’s body (Tickle). These are just small glimpses of the ghastly horrors that permeate picturesque New England. Once again, BUFF is thrilled to present a medley of terror served up with genuine love for all that is creepy, gruesome, and disturbing!

These forces will shatter the protective layer on the once stable, life-sustaining planet in an instant. Everything we know will become nothing. Maybe it already has.
After failing in NYC, Alice grabs her mixtapes and returns to her desolate, rural hometown and a finds job at the MAGNETOSTATIC SYSTEMS office located hundreds of feet underground concealed beneath a sheep farm.
Alice must piece together her memories, her dreams, and the space-time continuum itself to find out why she is so essential to the preservation of all life on Earth.

There is new Stee writing. Fear it. It is being made. Check out Stee’s supporter page to find out updates and behind the scenes stuff as she builds another special effects epic! We are in pre-pro now and will be casting before you know it. So tell us about the very best actors in the whole Boston scene. We wish to scoop them up, one male and one female like the Noah’s Ark of Dismemberment.

My project “The Thing With No Face” is coming along great, you can see the in-progress videos here if you’re a supporter, and I should have something really fun to show everybody for free in a few days! You can totally follow me on patreon without being a paid supporter. There will be neat new Thing With No Face scenes on there for FREE soon! And I will be expanding the amount of in-progress stuff available to my One Paid Supporter Pat too! She gets to see stuff no one else gets to see because she gave me TH

REE DOLLARS! But yeah there will be cool stuff for everybody. Stay superglued with your face to the screen forever!

I haz a new Patreon video. Click on the picture of my wounded jaw and it will play. I’ve just picked up The Art Of Asking and I am still learning its secrets. So far my patreon video is an apologetic montage of my shy friends shyly telling you that I’m cool. I may as well have a candelabra. I should put myself in there with a candelabra. But facebook message me if you want to be in it and more loudly shout the good news upon the rooftops!

November Scene Spy!

(Steven Lawlor-Jones on set of “The Thing With No Face”, photo by Stee McMorris)

October was a month of Parties, November is a month of Projects. This November, I worked too hard on the Projects and didn’t tell you all about the Parties. Sorry! But here are some parties and events and happenings and things going on, and you’ll love the projects we are doing…

NEWZ

-our new website!

The Witchworks Films website has had a lovely (partial, tiny, in progress) facelift by Garabed Setrakian of Setravision! Now when you’re checking the Scene Spy, you can also check out our videos page, our current projects page with news on what we are up to, our future wishes page with ways to get involved in the Witchworks dream, and our About Us page with all kinds of buttons to social media so you can contact, send fan letters to or hire anybody on the Witchworks team!

-politics!

Get the money out of the politics. We have crowdsourcing now. We can do anything! Get the signatures!

Check out www.PassMassAmendment.org they are totally making this possible. They didn’t get enough signatures this year, but watch out, weirdly human corporations!

Pass Mass Amendment – About the Ballot Initiative

www.passmassamendment.org

-this list!

In October there was a free Scene Spy every Thursday, and I figured a lot of people would sign up to be $1 Patreon supporters and I would just move the Spy over to Patreon, and keep doing weekly Spies but charge a dollar. Well, I didn’t find any new supporters (click here to be my $1 supporter!) but I did get asked to do about a million video projects. So I’m going to keep doing the Spy because I want to help the community and I like the good karma, but I’m NOT going to charge for it and it’s NOT going to be every week. For now. Basically I’ll put out a spy whenever I’m excited about What’s Going On, around one a month, and if I get enough Dreamers on board sending me a dollar, or other people showing interest in the Spy, it will go back to a more frequent thing.

But it’s still free! Free free free!

-videos by us!

Stee did a short documentary about women’s metal bands, “Sirens of Doomsday”. Check it out!

Stee did a performance video for Tom Tipton, where he strangely turned into Andy Warhol. It’s all a single shot, very 1960s documentary, and Tom brought back the 60s for a little minute, check it out.

We shot another gear test video/Thing With No Face video with Jaime Devine, Steven Lawlor-Jones and Farasha. It’s insane. I’m still editing it. There will be mind-bending CGI. You shall cower before the thing with no face! I’m editing the video as we speak, but when it’s done it’ll be up here.

Stee wrote a short sci-fi thing called “Strange Harvest”! It’s scary as fuck! She is scouting locations and designing props and raising money already, and will be casting before you know it, so WATCH OUT! Put your entire life on hold so Stee can make you a superstar, at some unspecified time SOON. But she will only be casting ONE woman and ONE man. And it’s going to be deeply, dreadfully horrifying.

-recent videos by our friends!

Our own Alex Stinson worked on this, which recently got on SyFy: Dark Haul

Brian Viglione’s “Feelin’ Bad For Dracula”

Tom tipton unboxes things: thing 1 thing 2 thing 3

Mike and Sophia made this a million ago but it’s good: Aquaman’s lament

Ugly boy. We do not know the members of Die Antwoord personally, but we are huge fans of them. Don’t give in and become a sewer clown just because you are ugly. Plenty of women love ugly men. Yo-landi from Die Antwoord prefers them exclusively!

-other name-dropping!

The Emperor of Humanity has a facebook presence now!

You missed our superstar Katie Coriander at her shows on November 15th and November 21st at Out of the Blue Too and Cuisine En Locale, because I didn’t do any Scene Spies this month until just now. This is the fault of sapient dinosaurs. Go back in time and see her shows. Or just see her upcoming shows December 1st (Zuzu) and 10th (Midway Café) and January 8th (TT’s)

The art of asking. Omg if you’re an artist anywhere ever, you’ve asked yourself at least once: How can I have success and fame fall (relatively) easily into my lap while having a wonderful, fulfilling, joyous time of it all and being true to myself, just like Amanda Palmer? Of course the first answer is it helps to have an upper middle class education, manners, attitude, contacts and privileges. Obviously. But already assuming we already do or don’t have those things, how can we leverage what we’ve got and launch ourselves into a bliss-world of ultimate satisfaction? By asking, aka busking! Entertain people really well, and THEN say “yes please may I have a dollar?” in just the right way. It’s not just the entertaining, it’s also the asking. Which can be completely utopian in itself and create bliss worlds of fans with couch forts. Yes yes, I must get this book. I think it is good even though I haven’t read it, because Amanda is so good at “spiritual busking” that it MUST be good! Please beam this book into my brain immediately.

2015 vampire calendar by Rob Fitz! It’s out! Our own Jaime Devine is in it! Get one for Xistmas!

-fan support!

We’ve also got a feature and a TV show we could do, but we need more encouragement! Watch our existing videos and comment on them! Tell us what you like! Subscribe to our Witchworks channel! Like Witchworks on Facebook! Like Earth Heart on Facebook! Check out the different parts of the Witchworks website, and leave comments! Go to our Patreon pages and check out the free stuff! Leave comments! Tell your friends about this list, and go to the events on it and have fun! Tell media outlets about us! Get interviewed for my Patreon video! Thu 27th

National Day of Mourning. Yes it is Thanksgiving. As we celebrate family and togetherness, many Native American allies pause to consider the injustices of our past in the founding of this nation. “For what does settler imply, if not a willingness to settle for a meal of human flesh?”

Since 1970, Native Americans have gathered at noon on Cole’s Hill in Plymouth to commemorate a National Day of Mourning on the US thanksgiving holiday. Many Native Americans do not celebrate the arrival of the Pilgrims and other Europeean settlers. Thanksgiving day is a reminder of the genocide of millions of Native people, the theft of Native lands, and the relentless assault on Native culture. Participants in National Day of Mourning honor Native ancestors and the struggles of Native peoples to survive today. It is a day of remembrance and spiritual connection as well as a protest of the racism and oppression that Native Americans continue to experience.
Join us as we dedicate the 45th National Day of Mourning to our brother, Native political prisoner Leonard Peltier. Add your voice to the millions world-wide who demand his freedom. Help us in our struggle to create a true awaren of Native peoples and demonstrate the unity of Indigenous peoples internationally. Help shatter the untrue glass image of the Pilgrims and the unjust system based on racism, sexism, homophobia and war.

8pm “David Boobie” This is what you wish American Horror Story really was like.

Black Friday is approaching once again, which means it’s time for the glorious return to Cambridge of Bowie-flavored striptease. “Niki Stardust and the Total Blam Blams” (aka Niki Luparelli and The Gold Diggers) bring back to OBERON their lascivious tribute to David Bowie and the female form.
There will be from twenty-two to twenty-five songs performed live over the course of the night, from ballads like “Life on Mars” to rockers like “Modern Love.” The band, “Niki Stardust and the Total Blam Blams,” comprises Brooks “Shields” Milgate on keyboard, Olga Supernova on violin, Gin Murphy on tenor sax, Johnny English on alto sax, Miss Christine on bass, Fanny Fandango on backup vocals, and of course Niki “Stardust” Luparelli on lead vocals, sass, and boobs. The dancers—representing both traditional burlesque and the edgier, campier neo-burlesque style—are all wham bam thank you ma’am.

****DAVID BOWIE COSTUME CONTEST! $100 Prize!*****
So, on Black Friday, rather than pushing through the market square, driving like a demon from station to station, and running wild through a million dead-end streets in search of Christmas bargains, you should instead spit in the eyes of fools, put on your red shoes, and run to the centre of things—Club Oberon, that is—where each table offers a seat with the clearest view, and femme fatales emerge from shadows, disrobing to the best of Bowie, all night long.

Saturday November 29th

7pm BACKWATER at Somerville theatre

I have a scary feeling we’re going to have to widen the seats a little bit as all of us recover from our post-Thanksgiving gluttony turkey fest, but dammit, there’s movies to be screened!
We’ve got a fantastic feature for your viewing pleasure this November. Chris Schrack’s BACK WATER is a terrific example of what you can do with a smart idea and limited means.
Cass and Mark (Liana Werner-Gray and Justin Tully respectively) are out to enjoy a weekend at the secluded lakeside Cass used to enjoy as a little girl. Their idyllic time away is shattered when they hear a cry for help in the wilderness. Torn over whether to seek them out or leave well enough alone, Mark’s good samaritan side kicks in while Cass gives up the ghost early. Separately they encounter a lone fisherman with a suspicious lack of equipment and the town’s sheriff that seems to have questionable motives for patrolling the woods. It comes as no surprise then that later in the night Mark and Cass find themselves attacked by and on the run from an unseen assailant. With their car disabled and their supplies strewn about the campsite, the duo are forced to hideout in order to survive the night.
Sounds like something you’ve seen a thousand times before, right? Wrong. Back Water takes some wild turns from the midpoint on, and Scrack does a terrific job between ramping up your adrenaline and keeping you on the edge of your seat with moments of nailbiting tension.
As always, we’ll have a presentation of short films before the feature, including Stephen Martin’s DEAD HEARTS, which isa fantastic and whimsical little horror comedy that plays out EXACTLY what you believe a Wes Anderson horror movie would.
The night starts at 7Pm in the Somerville Theater Microcinema, next to the Museum of Bad Art.

9pm Old School Game Show at Somerville Theatre

Are you ready to melt some faces like a Gremlin in a microwave oven?!?… Then throw on your favorite Iron Maiden T shirt, grab that Flying V and head on over to… Old School Game Show’s “Headbanger’s Balls To The Wall Free-For-All” That’s right, It’s the acid washed Heavy Metal themed edition of everyone’s favorite interactive Alt Trivia Variety Program.
Featuring the Eddie Van Halen approved finger tapping virtuosity of The Swinging OSGS Band!! And a brand new Dance Number ( of the Beast) from the Cubic Zirconia Dancers!!! ( Eat your heart out Tawny Kitaen ) Plus fabulous individual round Prizes from Great Local Sponsors and the $100 cash prize for the night’s true OSGS champion!!
OSGS is a live interactive theatre experience done with all the pageantry and analog style of a 1970’s television game show. The show combines elements of pub trivia, variety specials, and comedy sketches to produce a completely unique trivia experience that tests players pop culture acumen. With influences as vast as vaudeville, Pee Wee’s Playhouse, Andy Kaufman, and Battle of the Network Stars how could you go wrong? The entire show is backed by an amazing live band playing original OSGS music. It’s all the fun of an afternoon spent rolling around in the rumpus room without the rug burn.
When you arrive at the show the lovely usher who takes your ticket will ask you if you are interested in playing the game (you also have the option of just watching the show, you kinky bastard). If you would like to play you will receive a name tag and your name will be placed in our official OSGS fishbowl. At the beginning of the show 8 contestants will be called up to the stage (Price is Right Style) and divided into two teams to compete in the first round. The winning team of each round will win fun, fabulous prizes and the losing team will be replaced with new contestants. This continues over several rounds (each one a completely new original category) until the night’s greatest contestants square off against one another, Highlander style, until there is one final Old School Game Show Champion!

This is an open event — you can come dance even if you didn’t make it to The Slutcracker for opening night (maybe you’re going xxxmas eve instead) — all are welcome to come dance with the lovely Slut-cast and start Slut Season off right!
Tickets are $10 — unless you go to opening night of The Slutcracker, in which case you get a discount!

7pm Somerville Theatre: Etheria Film Night

For the third consecutive year, All Things Horror is proud to be the North East screening partner of the Etheria Film Night. Founded by Heidi Honeycutt as an offshoot of the Viscera Film Festival, Etheria was created as a short film showcase for the talented women working in the science fiction and fantasy genres. This year the festival folds horror back into the mix as the fest embraces a multitude of subgenres while staying true to its mission of promoting women working in the film industry.
This year the festival packs a doozie of a lineup, including the New England premiere of Axelle Carolyn’s gothic, supernatural romance SOULMATE. Ms. Carolyn’s next project is the recently announced Tales Of Halloween anthology, coproduced by Darren Bousman (Saw III – V, The Devil’s Carnival”) and Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers, The Descent) so I would expect to hear massive things from her in the comings months.
Etheria whittled down hundreds of submissions in order to present the absolute best and most entertaining lineup for the short film program. This year’s touring lineup includes the following:
JELLY WRESTLER
HIDE & SEEK
DAWN
YOU, ME & HER
SERPENT’S LULABYE
113 DEGREES
LITTLE LAMB
The Etheria Film Night runs on Saturday December 13th beginning at 7pm with a special encore presentation on Sunday the 14th at 2pm.

Halloween Scene Spy!

(Stabatha La Thrills at a shoot for “The Thing With No Face”, photo by Stee McMorris)

Halloween is a time of witches. Be nice to the witches in your community, and give them food and pills. And remember, the best way to help the arts community is to cook your local starving artist a healthy meal! They’ve probably been up all night talking to Cthulhoid entities, and can use the protein and vitamins!

NEWZ

-this list!

Expect it every week, on my patreon page! And for the first month of the Scene Spy, you can see it for free on the Witchworks website too! One more week left!

-patreon news!

Patreon is the coolest. Stee managed to get two Patreon patrons already, and it made her so happy she wrote an entire horror movie short! The dream is possible! You should go give her a dollar! I have a Patreon page too, but I’m not as cute as Stee is. But that’s where the secret possession videos go, and this list will soon live there as well…

-videos by us!

This week we’re most excited about what we’re writing and filming, and the support we’ve been getting!

I wrote two more Planetary Governor commercials today, for Vermin’s opponent Captain Titus, who is a much more well-connected planetary official, and may actually give us money! These commercials are going to be EPIC, I’m really excited about them. They’re going to have crowd scenes, vaporization, crushed babies and all the good stuff! Plus Vermin is amazing!

Stee got all excited about her first two people giving her a dollar that she wrote a whole sci-fi horror comedy short! It’s hilarious! She wrote another one a few days ago, and it looks like we’re pretty definitely doing something by Stee… this December or so? People like my videos that I wrote, but Stee’s writings deal with bigger, deeper themes and people seem to like them even more! So we are all psyched. Send Stee your dollar and let her know you believe in her!

Starting tomorrow I’ll be filming for my Patreon video about how I hope to help Boston’s art scene with horror ponies and gore comedy, so some of you ought to expect a phone call soon, as Tom Kenney and I will be visiting you for an interview about fax machines and stuff like that… Let me know if you want to be interviewed, I might not have thought of you yet…

And on November 9th we’ll be filming more of The Thing With No Face, with Steven Lawlor-Jones, Jaime Devine, and Farasha! Please ask the spirits to make it good weather for us…

Come to the Gilded Age Salons and meet people!

If you haven’t seen the videos Stee and I made for Tom Doesn’t Care, Ugly or NSA Song, check ‘em out on YouTube for free!

There SHALL BE MORE.

Izzy Lee is skyrocketing to stardom with her explorations in the Feminist Revenge Horror genre. You may have seen her on TV’s Chronicle a few days ago! You should check out her highly anticipated Nevermore play on the 31st!

Walter Sickert has shows coming up including Once! Muertos, check out our actors Jojo and Dalya in the band family…

DECOMP!

Omg this is always awesome, and sometimes semi-private. But I might go! No deets here but msg me if you need!

That’s it for the Scene Spy this week! If you want to help out with some of this stuff, go to my Patreon page and give me some advice, or psychically beam me a dollar!

Birthday Scene Spy!

It’s my birthday! I’m 40! I’m looking forward to my new 40something lifestyle, where I get lots more white male privilege and get asked to run foundations and given large sums of money in unmarked bags. It includes eating healthy, having a rockstar dentist, comfortable furniture, and health insurance. It includes being a patron as well as a protégé. It includes a world where people think I am gross and call me “daddy” and I tell them not to call me that. And I get fat, supposedly. But I’m not going to get fat.

It’s my party later today/night. You’re only invited if you know me, but if you do and you don’t know where the party is, send me a facebook message or a phone call and I’ll clue you in. But there will be stand-up comedy, catering, yodeling, videos and possible live music!

There are 41 parties on here this week.

NEWZ

-this list!

Expect it every week, on my patreon page! And for the first month of the Scene Spy, you can see it for free on the Witchworks website too!

-patreon!

Patreon is the coolest. It’s like Kickstarter except it’s made for ongoing artists who are cranking out more product all the time. Maybe it’ll cause wide swaths of artists to be able to make art full time, by people supporting the artist instead of paying per-content for the art? Here’s my patreon page and Stee McMorris’s patreon page. We don’t have any signups yet, maybe you would like to be my first $1 patron? Or Stee’s? It all starts with the first dollar, and we work hard to try to continually bring you fresh stuff! :):) <3<3

-recent public videos by us!

I just discovered Vine. Here’s a vine video I just made of Katie Coriander as Cthulhu.

If you haven’t seen the videos Stee and I made for Tom Doesn’t Care, Ugly or NSA Song, check ‘em out on YouTube for free!

Also I made this Zach Deputy video, this rap video about Revere Beach, this Bible Cats commercial, this commercial, this video of one of my previous birthday parties. Click on them!

For more videos, check out the Past Work section of our new Witchworks Films website!

-secret videos!

October’s video incorporates one shoot where I brought the GoPro and beat myself up in the woods, some footage of me getting possessed, and some stuff with an unseen monster, possibly the possessed me, stalking and chasing Stabatha La Thrills around. Maybe it’s the evil faeries, who can say? There’s some beautiful camera work by Alex Stinson and Stee McMorris, and some grainy stuff I shot myself… Patrons can see it here!

November’s “secret” gear test video is about exploring emotional jib shots, subjective angles, more refined woodsy sound, and trying out some of our favorite local actors with some speaking lines. And also seeing what they look like getting possessed! It’s going to have Jaime Devine, Garabed Setrakian and Steven Lawlor-Jones, and involves further revealing of the mystery of that Thing, and why Steven always carries that machine around… we’ll be shooting it in early November and it’ll be lots of fun!

Anyway, when each gear test video is done I’ll be posting it on my Patreon page in the creations section. Behind-the-scenes videos, blooper reels and other secret videos we won’t be posting publically on YouTube will end up there as well. $3 a month patrons and above will be able to see them all!

-gilded age salons!

We’re making plans for our first Gilded Age Salon, but first I’ve got to have my birthday party today. I’m turning 40, come to my thing!

If you would like to host or have your art be featured at a Gilded Age Salon, email me!

-recent videos by our friends!

Steve Onderick is great. He shot all the ritual scenes for our Ugly video, and several episodes of Quiet D. He also made a documentary about Vermin Supreme, whom we’ll be putting in some propaganda videos soon, stay tuned. On November 4th you can see that documentary, and Vermin will be there…

Who Is Vermin Supreme? An Outsider Odyssey

Michael J Epstein Memorial Library is a strange thing. Our friends Sophia and Mike have like a million bands. I do not understand which band is which and why. But they are amazingly talented, have cool songs and feminist videos, check this one out!

People keep getting video of Katie Coriander. You just want to film her. We’re doing a new video for her soon, really! But actually, Crazy Trevor, do keep filming her. He recently made a film with Vermin about ponies, and we have to be behind that…

-other name-dropping!

It’s neat having famous friends. You wonder what your friends are doing, so you just pick up a newspaper or a magazine and then you know! It makes me want to start a new section of the Scene Spy called Name Dropping!

This week’s DigBoston has Anna Feder on the front, and a picture of Nichole Snow fighting for medical cannabis reform! If you live in Salem, write her in for State Rep! And a teeny tiny picture of Michael J. Epstein Memorial Library, about their show on the 25th! (see below in the eventz section)

Robby Roadsteamer is back, for those who’ve missed the ultimate ironically shitty dude and his scathing insult comedy, check him out on WEMF radio every day! He’s also playing the Middle East Downstairs in December, look here in future weeks for details!

Amanda Palmer is doing a book tour soon, check it out

Walter Sickert has shows coming up, check out our actors Jojo and Dalya in the band family… I just had to have them on TV 3 times so far because the Toys are the coolest!

Izzy Lee is skyrocketing to stardom with her explorations in the Feminist Revenge Horror genre. You may have seen her photos posing with every famous horror person ever, or some of her films in every film festival ever. You should check out her highly anticipated Nevermore play on the 31st!

And our latest Witchworks Films Hero of the Revolution, Katie Coriander has like 90 shows in late November and December. You’ll see announcements of them here! And if you just HAVE to see Katie before that, come to my birthday party where she MIGHT be jamming with people for a little while… And watch this video if you haven’t seen it…or this one or this one or this one or this Vine video…

-other stuff!

Countable is really cool. You can easily search and see all the bills on the House and Senate floor and automatically tell your representatives how you think they should vote. Sure they’re probably going to vote with all the big corporations anyway, but this at least makes it easy to get your voice heard. I get form letters from politicians all the time now!

You can still rent Pony Trouble at Amazon Instant!

There’s genome editing now. Some lady in Utah accidentally discovered how to use bacteria to edit genes. Soon this will cure everything…
